Contemporary Detailing
With views over a quiet waterway, the intent of the interior refurbishment of this heritage residence was to create a blend of contemporary and traditional spaces – keeping the minimal contemporary spaces facing the water so as not to detract from the views. Simplicity of detailing was the key to the success of this interior refurbishment.- Slide 2
Traditional Detailing
As part of the refurbishment of this residence, the traditional interior detailing was retained and used also as a template for the new work. The overall interior fitout creates a refined comfortable elegance for the family – which flows through to the exterior detailing and the landscaping. The proportions, colouring and fine detailing suited the relatively small scale of the residence without overwhelming the spaces.- Slide 3
Collector’s Residence
The interior design of this residence was based on the owner’s collection of Asian artefacts. Display of the collection was paramount to balance the functional layout of the rooms. Wherever appropriate, the collection was also used for cabinetry. The intent was to make best use of the collection without overwhelming the interiors – using appropriate levels of lighting – whilst maintaining the comfort of a residential setting.- Slide 4
